About 40 farmers were imparted training on post-harvest technologies organized by the Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) with technical support of Agricultural Marketing department in Uthamacholapuram regulated market in Veerapandi block recently.
K. Syed Anser Bhasa, deputy director, Farmers Training Centre, presided over the inaugural of the training programme organised with the objective of enhancing the revenue of the farmers by producing value addition products from agriculture and horticulture produce adopting latest techniques. B. Karthikayini, assistant director of agriculture (in-charge), explained about collective farming to reduce the hurdles faced by the farmers.
Yoganatham, superintendent, Regulated Market, explained the types of storage godown, cold storage facilities available for storing the farm produce during the lean period.
