Crops Insurance to be Disbursed Shortly
Tamil Nadu: Collector N. Venkatesh has informed, farmers, who are yet to get crop insurance for the past two fiscals even after paying the premium, will get it shortly as the State government has issued order for the early disbursal of the same.
The Tamil Nadu Government had paid its insurance premium share to the National Agriculture Insurance Corporation and the Government Order in this connection had been released, said Joint Director of Agriculture Selvaraj, while addressing the meet held at the Collectorate.
Hence, the farmers, who had insured their rain-fed crops for the fiscal 2015 – 2016 would get the insurance shortly.
The State Government’s insurance premium share for the rain-fed crops for the fiscal 2016 - 2017 had been paid to the New India Assurance Company and this insurance would also get disbursed in the near future, Mr. Selvaraj informed.
While confirming this information, Mr. Venkatesh said the farmers, who had insured their rain-fed crops for 2015 – 2016 and 2016 – 2017 would get it before November-end.
