The Global Rajasthan Agritech Meet (GRAM) will have a dedicated section showcasing the best agro technologies to visitors
to boost locally developed technological innovations in agriculture.
Principal Secretary, Agriculture, Neelkamal Darbari said that spread over a large area within the GRAM, the platform will be
named “Smart Farm”. She also said that, the ‘Smart Farm’ will be “a live walk-through model” and it is highlighting the best
of modern technologies in the entire agriculture value chain, starting from pre-harvest, post-harvest to modern scientific
storage, banking and agri marketing opportunities.
The farm will also disseminate information about various Rajasthan Government policies and new initiatives in each section
of value chain.
Also some major objective of the ‘Smart Farm’ will be to display the importance of resource conservation in future
farming, through demonstrations, including importance of soil testing, organic farming, water use efficiency technologies,
and farm mechanisation.
The ‘GRAM’, is an international farmers’ event and it will be held from November 9 to 11. This event will be jointly organised
by the Government of Rajasthan and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry. According to the state government,
it is expected to witness the participation of around 50,000 farmers.
In production of carom-seeds, coriander, fenugreek, mustard, henna, isabgol, guar, bajra and coarse wool Rajasthan state leads
and also in the production of gram, cumin seeds and all coarse cereals the state ranks No. 2.
