Jaipur: During the global Rajasthan agri-tech meet (GRAM), state agriculture department will impart training to its
officials on procedures related to setting up of industries for the effective implementation of memorandum of understanding
(MoUs).
Each MoU were facing issues on its execution because attachment of officials with no experience and knowledge of
facilitating industries. So these officials will now undergo training modules, understanding the rules and regulations of
setting up plants to overcome this shortcoming.
To impart the training, bureau of investment promotion (BIP) has been mandated, said the department officials.
An official from agriculture department said, "Our officers are trained in agricultural activities and have no knowledge of
industries. But as nature of farming is changing and processing units are coming up, to set up these units also needs a
functional knowledge of industries."
The department has attached one officer with each agreement signed during GRAM to oversee successful execution. In
the agricultural marketing department, MoUs worth Rs 1732.9 crore direct investment and Rs 200 crore indirect investment
were signed.
