Punjab government has set up hi-tech a centre of Excellence for cattle breeding farm at a cost of Rs.
42.19 crore. The Centre is equipped with hi-tech scientific infrastructure under National Agriculture
Development Plan.
Animal Husbandry Minister Mr. Gulzar Singh Ranike said that in Punjab the animal husbandry and
dairy development and fisheries was being encouraged as an alternative and remunerative trade.
The Punjab government has asked the Veterinary doctors to provide periodic health check-ups to
the animals and extend immediate medical care to them to ensure absolute health cover to the livestock.
The Embryo transfer technology, feed mill and Veterinary Polytechnic set up earlier needed
immediate up gradation in centre of Excellence for cattle breeding farm and this modern high tech
farm also protect animals from bio-security risks, he added.
To create conducive atmosphere in the Centre for Cattle Breeding Farm for standardised breeding of
animals, the Punjab government is special attention.
The breeding of high quality of H.F, Jersey and Sahewal cows would be enhanced in the State and
the all process of breeding secured in the hi-tech ETT labs by using of modernise technology.
The Government has set up exclusive training centres where practical training based on scientific
experiments would be provided in the presence of the established renowned dairy farmers.
