Boosting Agriculture by Exchanging Ideas of Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan Farmers

Farmers from Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh will exchange experiences based on new experiments being done in the field of farming in both the states to promote innovation in agriculture sector.

An agriculture department official informed “Both states have different climatic conditions and also have variety in types of soil. Besides enhancing productivity, exchanging new ideas and best practices will help farmers of both the states to combat challenges faced in agriculture sector.”

Agriculture Minister of Rajasthan, Prabhulal Saini and Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh had meeting at Kota in the western state expressed mutual consent on this step.

The decision is taken as at least 50 farmers from Chhattisgarh will be sent on a study tour to Jaipur and these farmers also attend the agri-tech fair which is to be held from November 9 to 11.

The official said that for studying advanced methods of farming, especially in horticulture crops sector Rajasthan farmers were also invited in Raipur. The Rajasthan government was also informed in the meeting about various new practices underway in the field of horticulture in Chhattisgarh, like preparation of clusters of guava, lemon, custard apples and berries and the ongoing plantation of cashew saplings alongside the roads at wide-level.

Officials also appreciated some initiatives like distribution of solar irrigation pumps to farmers and use of solar energy to ensure drinking water supply in villages of Chhattisgarh. Also in Rajasthan according to Rajasthan government, the state is the leading producer of cumin, mustard, and barley and even they had developed west Rajasthan as hub of date palm production.

The idea behind the exchanging innovative ideas among the farmers of different states is to help them to take up of new crops production as per the standard procedure.
