Seed Availability and Stubble Management Machinery Demonstrations to Continue at Agri Varsity
Farmers continued to throng the Punjab Agricultural University campus on the third day of the Kisan Mela, even though forecast of rain was came three days ago.
In view of the unprecedented rush of farmers at the Kisan Mela, despite heavy showers on the third day, the availability of seed and demonstration of stubble management machinery will continue in the coming days, for the convenience of interested farmers.
Divulging details, PAU Vice Chancellor said that due to heavy rain some farmers faced difficulty in carrying seed and witnessing various live demonstrations. He said that the PAU Seed Shop at Gate No 1 will remain open on all days of the week to facilitate the availability of Rabi seed for the farmers.
While reiterating the University's drive to stop stubble burning, Dr Dhillon informed that the farmers can visit the demonstrations of stubble management machinery near the Rural Museum on all working days and interact with the agricultural engineers and scientists.
The Vice Chancellor thanked the farmers for maintaining close liaison with the PAU experts and for their faith in the University recommendations.
