National Kamdhenu Breeding Centre SchemeHome

National Kamdhenu Breeding Centre Scheme has following objectives:

a. To conserve and preserve indigenous bovine breeds

b. To enhance production and productivity

c. To upgrade genetic merit

d. To supply certified elite germplasm

e. To protect threatened breeds from extinction

This scheme will be implemented by State implementing agency and state livestock development board Following activities will be funded by government

1. Construction of sheds

2. Construction of calf pens

3. Isolation sheds

4. Procurement of elite animals from the breeding tract

5. Establishment of state of art semen stations

6. Veterinary dispensary with all facility

7. Fodder production, silage making and fodder block making

8. Milk processing plant and milk production making facility

9. Bio gas and green power

10. Rain water harvesting
