Jain Irrigation Bags Order of Rs.584 Cr.

India’s biggest micro irrigation company and agriculture conglomerate has bagged one more order of Integrated Micro Irrigation Project in Karnataka after successful execution and commissioning of more than a dozen large sized integrated micro irrigation projects in the country.

The project is based on "Resource To Root" concept pioneered by Jain Irrigation, which fulfils both the objectives of PMKSY ( Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojna) i.e. "Har Khet Ko Pani" and "Per Drop More Crop" to bring the reforms in irrigation sector. Karnataka Neeravari Nigam Limited a Division of Water Resources Department of Karnataka has placed this order on the company through National Competitive Bidding.

Key Highlights:
The Singatalur Lift Irrigation project is being implemented for irrigating drought prone areas of Huvinahadagali Taluk of Bellary district, Gadag and Mundargi taluks of Gadag district, Koppal and Yelaburga taluks of Koppal District Karnataka.

Project awarded to Jain Irrigation on turnkey basis covers providing drip irrigation system to 31,547 Acre (12,767.0 Ha) for more than 10000 farmers of 31 villages under Mundargi Branch Canal of Singatalur LIS on turnkey basis including operation and maintenance of the above scheme for 5 ( Five) years.

Unique Project under which water is lifted from Mundargi Branch Canal of Singatalur LIS and provision of irrigation through Drip Irrigation system to 31,547 acre through collection sumps and pump houses. Under this integrated project water is to be delivered directly using MS/HDPE/PVC pressurized piping network and drip irrigation.

This project is based on unique concept of integrated Lift cum Drip irrigation project which is incorporated on such a large scale in canal command areas. This project is basically planned for improving water use efficiency in canal command areas through conduit distribution and use of Drip Irrigation system from main canal onwards.
