At KVK, Kapurthala w.e.f 23rd October to 6th November 2017, a vocational training course on dairy farming was conducted in which 13 farmers participated.
In this programme, lectures were delivered regarding Breeds of dairy cattle, housing requirements, feeding requirements, balanced feeding and computation of ration for different categories of animals, important disease and their preventive measures etc.
To show modern dairy sheds, silo pits and automatic milking parlour established by progressive farmers, an exposure visit was also conducted in the village Khanpur. A field visit was also made to show cattle feed manufacturing unit established locally by an entrepreneur.
In addition a special lecture was delivered by Sr. Branch Manager for Punjab Gramin Bank to elaborate various loan schemes for the welfare of small and marginal farmers.
On 15-11-2017, Dr Manoj Sharma, Associate Director (Trg.) distributed training certificates to trainees and wished them a great success.
