A workshop was organised by AICRP-IFS team at KVK, Patiala on 10.05.2018 for discussion about Integrated Farming System at farmers’ field by using FARMDESIGN software with help of Jelle Van Den Akker from WUR, Netherlands.
Dr. S S Walia, Sr. Agronomist encouraged farmers to adopt integrated farming system model propagated at PAU, Ludhiana.
Dr. Jasvinder Singh, Associate Director (Trg.), KVK, Patiala also addressed issued related to adoption of IFS among farmers. Mr. Jelle Akker compared the Indian farming system to the Dutch system presenting model dutch farm.
Dr. Jashanjot Kaur, Asstt. Agronomist presented the current view of farmers about IFS. Sh. Dharam Singh and Sh. Harvinder Singh from Village Bhojo Majri were motivated to adopt orchard plantation as IFS component.
Mr. Gurbaz Singh from Village Sangatpura were interested in adopting mushroom cultivation. Other farmers pledged to reduce the fertilizer dose and instead apply farmyard manure from the dairy component to their fields.
