Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Samrala under the guidance of Dr. S.C. Sharma (Associate Director, Training) organized awareness campaign on crop residue management technologies for the farmers and rural youth on 20-7-2018 at village Gosalan.
Er. Karun Sharma Ext. Spl. (Agri. Engg.) welcomed the farmers and highlighted the activities of KVK and urged the farmers to create awareness regarding “no crop residue burning”.
He advised farmers and rural youth to adopt recommended technologies to manage paddy straw. He delivered a lecture on paddy straw management and discussed various methods and techniques for managing the crop residue. He also discussed in detail the working of different machines like Happy Seeder, Mulcher, Baler, Seed drill etc. for efficient management of paddy straw.
Dr. Harshneet Singh, Ext. Spl. (Soil Science) told the farmers that incorporation of paddy straw in the soil improves the soil health An interactive session was organized where experts and farmers shared their experiences on crop residue management.
At the end, KVK scientists thanked and encouraged the participants to create awareness in the village and motivated for natural resource conservation.
