2025 Annual Conference of the American Society of Agricultural Consultants (ASAC)

MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis. April 2025 – Rusty Rumley, JD, LL.M, National Ag Law Center; James Mintert, Ph.D., Emeritus Professor of Agricultural Economics at Purdue University; and Donald Lamb, director of the Indiana State Department of Agriculture, are among the speakers confirmed to make presentations at the 2025 Annual Conference of the American Society of Agricultural Consultants (ASAC) in Indianapolis, Ind., November 2-4.

Rumley, back by popular request, will cover Hot Topics in Ag Law and Policy, and Dr. Mintert, will address the U.S Economy Outlook: What Farmers are Telling Us. The Monday evening banquet keynote is Donald Lamb, director of the Indiana State Department of Agriculture, who will speak on the Position of Indiana Agriculture. Additionally, he will give an opening overview of the state’s agriculture to attendees on Sunday afternoon, prior to the Monday morning ag tours.

“Our speaker roster is coming together nicely,” reports Abigail Byerly, Snowy Mountain Development Corp, Lewiston, Mont., chair of the annual conference. “Indianapolis is an excellent location for our members and guests; it provides opportunities for a great many ag industry leaders to meet with our group.

“We are putting more emphasis on the Sunday program this year. We will still have the opening reception on November 2, but it will be preceded by an ethics refresher course for all members. There will also be an overview of Indiana agriculture, which will set the stage for understanding the state’s role in agricultural research and production,” Byerly says.

“For Monday, we are switching things around a bit by providing two tours in the morning before starting sessions in the afternoon. Attendees will visit corporate headquarters for Beck’s Hybrids seed company and tour corporate facilities at Corteva Agriscience. These two programs should be of great interest to our members and guests as they will be exposed to background information on challenges the two companies face in today’s agriculture and their forward thinking in developing new products and strains.”

The committee also expects to announce presentations on current veterinary medicine challenges, including the bird influenza crisis; the continuing and evolving role of technology in ag; international trade; and other topics. Those speakers and time slots are currently being finalized and will be announced in May. At that time, the conference registration link on the website will be active: https://www.agconsultants.org/2025_annual_conference.php

The hotel information and reservation link for the conference can be found on that page also, and the room reservation link is live. The venue is the Embassy Suites by Hilton Indianapolis North, 3912 Vincennes Road, Indianapolis, Indiana 46268.

Conference details, including sponsorship opportunities, will be added on the conference website page as they become available.
