Name:-Fusarium foot rot (Fusarium solani) Source:- Much yet unknown. Current infestation suggests spores spread by contaminated soil on machinery. |
Cooler temperatures possibly more favorable. Symptoms most evident after fruit set. Usually reduces crop on portions of plants. Isolated branches show virus-like leaf distortions and yellowing. Remains isolated to individual stems or plant sides. Leaf: - Spotting, leaf mottle and/or interveinal chlorosis limited to individual branches. Stem: -Discoloration extends about 4" up the stem from the root lesion. Root and fruit: - A soft and/or wet brown lesion will be found on the main or lateral root. |

Crop rotation and growing resistant variety are effective in checking the disease. |
