JOHN FOWLER-WESTRUP Fine Cleaner Type UB is used for fine cleaning and grading of light and heavy seeds, cereals and granular materials. The machine with a functional design is manufactured in accordance with good manufacturing practices. It is a machine with eminent ability to clean, and still very easy to operate. Construction In SAB Pre-Cleaners and UB Fine Cleaners the frame is made of profiled sheet steel and the sieve boats, with the finest waterproof laminated wood. This combination results in both long life and low noise level. Operating Principle The material is lead into the Cleaner via the feeding apparatus where the feed roller speed is adjusted to suit the desired capacity. The feed roller has sufficient space between the ribs so that peas, beans and similar seeds are prevented from sticking. At the same time, the ribs are high enough to enable it to feed finer materials. On the outlet of the feed roller, a special brush is mounted to hold back the material when the machine is stopped. The brush will not damage the material while the machine is in operation. Leaving the feed roller, the material passes through the head aspiration chamber where light contaminant is separated and the screw conveyor leads it to a waste outlet. In the system with three sieve layers, the upper screen removes the coarser particles, the middle screen takes care of the grading in such a way that material larger than the screen perforations is removed. On the bottom screen the opposite is the case; here material smaller than the screen perforations fall through and is removed. Before the graded material leaves the machine, it passes through another air stream at the tall aspiration - where possible "ears" or light and empty kernels are sucked away into the rear aspiration chamber. From here they can be sacked off, recycled, or lead to a waste outlet via the built-in-screw conveyor. |
