In India poultry export earning is very low . The major share of broiler export is in favour of USA, whereas 70% eggs are exported by USA, China and Holland. China has emerged as a potential exporter country from Asia along with Thailand (meat). Indian industry has to search itself about facilities for observing Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point ‘HACCP’ to produce safe products for human consumption. Unless these norms are met India should not imagine to enter in export market. The basic reason being the insecticidal residue of crops, medicinal and residue and the microbial contamination arising from management lapses. Under HACCP each point of production chain has to follow the norms laid down for the purpose. Indian citizen may dream to have such safe and contamination free processed products in the new millenium. Major exporters and importers of the world (1996-97)
