Thai rubber prices were steady on Tuesday due to tight supplies caused by steady rain and sluggish demand, from overseas buyers, traders said on Tuesday. "As the rain has yet to stop, rubber tappers could not function well, resulting in lower than expected supplies coming into the market," said a trader at a major trading house in southern Thailand. There has been rainfall in southern Thailand over the past few weeks, which are normally dry season in the country.The wintering season has just ended in the country when trees leaves their leaves and yield little latex. Benchmark RSS3 on Tuesday was quoted unchanged from Friday at 70 US cents per kg for June delivery, and at 71 cents per kg for July, steady from late last week,reported by Bangkok market sources. |
