Value added NPK complex fertilizers has been launched by the Indian Farmers Fertilizer Cooperative Limited (IFFCO), so as to combat the deficiency of micronutrient zinc and secondary nutrient sulphur particularly in area of intensive cultivation. The regular grade of NPK 12:32:16 produced by IFFCO will now have additional 0.5 % zinc and 0.5 % sulphur. IFFCO conducted laboratory trials with its own research and development efforts, keeping in view the problems faced by the farmers of the country and need for replenishment of zinc and sulphur in the soil to produce this product which will not only improve the crop productivity but also profitability and help maintain soil fertility for sustainable agriculture. The additional zinc and sulphur available in IFFCO grade will be free of cost to the farmers. |
