Four new cotton hybrids for South India

Nuzvidu Seeds have developed four hybrid cottonseeds, which are tested as a part of the All-India Coordinated Cotton Improvement Project of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research.

The ICAR had chosen four strains, NCHH-145, NCHH-207, NCHH-99 and NCHH-27, during 1999, from Nuzvidu Seeds. Among them, the NCHH-145 was found to be the best hybrid in terms of yield and fiber quality in the next year. For the coming year’s trial, the company has given out three more hybrid strains. It is said that the cotton farmers in Andhra Pradesh and the rest of South India would be benefited with the release of these hybrids.
