Oilseeds is a very important group of crops. India is deficit in edible oil production and hence developmental efforts are made to increase production of oilseeds and consequently those of oils. Main objective of this scheme is to increase per hectare yield (productivity) and total production of oilseeds in Maharashtra. The expenditure of this scheme is shared by the Central and State Governments in 75:25 ratio. There are several subsidies under the scheme.
State Sponsored Special Scheme: The Government of Maharashtra has started special programme of oilseeds production on the lines of centre sponsored scheme. Under this scheme 100% expenditure is borne by the State Govt. The crops included are groundnut, soyabean, improved and hybrid sunflower. Subsidy is granted on supply of certified seed, disease control, (rust on soyabean). The Scheme is operated by the principal Agricultural officer and Agricultural Development Office (Z.P) at the district level. Except Thane and Raigad, the scheme is operated in all the districts of the State. |
