Central Govt. sponsored Pulses Development Programmes

A pulse is an important group of crops. Pulses are the major source of protein in the diet/of all categories of people. But per hectare yields of pulses are quite low and per Capita availability is low. To increase per hectare yield (productivity) and total production of pulses in the State of Maharashtra and to make the state self-sufficient in pulses, this incentive scheme is operated in the State. The expenditure of the scheme is shared by the Central and State Governments in 75:25 proportions. Subsidies are granted on the following items:

6 Sprinkler sets
  1. 90% to ST/NT/Women small and marginal farmers limited to Rs.25000/set
  2. 70% to other farmers limited to Rs.25000/set
7 Integrated pest management programme - Rs.1500/ha
8 Demonstrations of feromon traps - Rs.250/ha
9 Seed minikits - 100% subsidy
10 Farmers training - Rs.100/- per trainee.

The scheme is operated by Agricultural Development Officer (Z.P.) and Principal Agricultural Officer ( T & V) at the district levels. The scheme is implemented in 24 districts in the state.
