The college of Fisheries here (Mangalore) will hold a six-day international workshop on "Bio-technological tools in pathogen detection and fish/shrimp health management" from Monday. The workshop will be co-organised by the UNESCO-MIRCEN for Marine Biotechnology. The workshop was important for countries in South Asia major producers of marine products in using the technology available as tools to get rid of various microbes in fish. As presence of microbes may cause danger of export consignments being rejected. About 20 delegates from India and Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal, and Philippines will participate in the workshop. |
