Agriculture News: Goa State Schemes For Vegetable Farming.

Goa state now focusing on the development of vegetable, so for that they launching some schemes to boost vegetable farming.

Programme for Development of Vegetable:
Vegetables like, Bhendi, Cluster Beans, Brinjal, Chillies, Tendli, Watermelon etc., can be cultivated based on agro climatic situation of the State. Selected beneficiaries will be provided inputs like vegetable seeds, manure, fertilizer and pesticides on need basis for plant protection measures limited Rs. 4,000/- for 500 sq. mts.

The selection of HGs/ NGOs/Individual farmers interested in cultivation of vegetables will be done by Goa State Horticulture Corporation Ltd., as they will be linked to collection of their produce at prefixed price for sale on the outlets established by GSHCL.

Assistance for Vegetable seeds:
In order to boost vegetable cultivation in the State 50% assistance will be provided for purchase of vegetable seeds (Local, HYV and hybrid) through the departmental sale points.
