To promote poultry business on a large scale in the Kerala State, the southern regional office of the Central Poultry Development Organisation (CPDO) in Bengaluru under the Union Ministry of Agriculture has entered into a joint action plan with the College of Avian Sciences and Management here under the Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (KVASU).
CPDO regional director P.S. Mahesh said that, the two governmental agencies would work together to boost germ plasm production apart from enhancing research in the area and successful marketing of poultry products in the State. He reached the college at Thiruvizhamkunnu to address a week-long training programme for stakeholders.
The training programme also organized on poultry. This programme covered various aspects of scientific poultry management, hatchery, feed mill operations, processing, value addition, project formulations, pollution control, emerging diseases and control, banking, finance and poultry insurance and programme attended by researchers and entrepreneurs.
