Agriculture Research Associate-Field (vegetable division) Karnataka

Job Description

• Utilize the latest breeding techniques for trait integration to develop superior inbreeds and hybrids. • Assist with field trials including sowing, transplanting, and requesting and supervising contract labor, evaluating trials and analyzing data.
• Maintain seed inventory including conducting annual review of inventory, identifying lines for increase and recording information for new productions into database.
• Order and maintain inventory of laboratory and greenhouse supplies.
• Interact with a variety of customers and support groups including breeding, sales, new trait developers, QA seed health, inside farming, facilities, outside farming, technology development and foundation seed.
• Actively participate in ESH programs on site

Candidate Profile:
- UG: B.Sc (Agriculture), M.Sc (Genetics and plant breeding/ Bio-technology with plant breeding experience) with 2-3 years professional research experience in plant breeding
Required Skills/Experience:
  • Highly dynamic and young Plant breeding M.Sc graduates with experience in Marker technology may also apply.
  • Broad knowledge of vegetable growing and farming practices.
  • Team player and supervisory experience
  • Computer proficiency, particularly in MS Office: MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Access, MS Outlook.
