Training Programme on Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs)

Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs) are the practices which enables the plant to respond for input use. In fact, GAPs ensure economic and social sustainability for onfarm processes and result in safe and quality food and non-food agricultural products.

Training objectives:
- To impart training on good agricultural practices for enhancing productivity and profitability
- To provide practical orientation of advanced tools and techniques used for efficient crop management.

Course duration: February 14-27, 2017

Eligibility:
The technical staff of ICAR institutes are eligible for participation for the good agricultural practice training programme.
All the application must routed through proper channel. The total number of participants will be restricted to 25. There is no course fee charged to participants.
But the TA/DA will be borne by the host institute of the participant.
Course Content
The course is consisted of all aspects of the good agricultural practices pertaining to agriculture and allied activities. Keeping focus on the sustainable crop production, suitable good agricultural practices right from field preparation to harvesting and storage will be discussed. Lectures are framed on the different topics ranging from basic to advance good agricultural practices.

How to reach
Indian Agricultural Research Institute popularly known as “Pusa Institute” is located at Pusa in East Patel Nagar about 10 km from Maharana Pratap ISBT, 8 km west of New Delhi Railway Station and about 16 km east of Indira Gandhi International Airport. Pre - paid taxi/auto can be available at railway /airport/bus stations to reach at IARI, Pusa Campus, New Delhi.
