Under Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare decides to extend the cut-off date for crop insurance during Rabi 2016-17 up to 10th January, 2017.
The Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare keeping in view the difficulties faced by the farmers due to demonetization of old currency notes in obtaining crop insurance during Rabi 2016-17 under Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY).
To protect the interest of farmers the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, has decided to extend the cut-off date up to 10th January, 2017 for enrolment of non loanee farmers/debit of premium from eligible crop loan account/Kisan Credit Card of loanee farmers under Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana.
Because of this step taken by the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, now the farmers can get their crops insured till 10th January, 2017, who could not insure their crops due to demonetization.
