Punjab Government has launched “Bhagat Puran Singh Sehat Bima Yojana” scheme for the welfare
of farmers of the state.
This scheme will provide cashless health care services to the eligible farmers. Enrolled farmers would
get the benefit from this unique scheme for one year. Pre-active Health Cards would be disbursed to
three lac farmers during the first phase of the project.
Farmers and their families will be provided health insurance cover of Rs. 50,000 for treatment and
compensation of Rs 5-lakh in case of the death of the head of the family or when two parts of his
body get disabled. The premium worth Rs. 220/-per family per annum will be paid by the market
committee of Mandi board.
Near about 153 market committees play a major role to provide the benefit to the farmers under
this unique project. Chief Agriculture Officers of the departments in their respective districts have
already made aware the farmers about this unique welfare scheme. Farmers can contact regarding
