If Consultant Firm, a dedicated staff person with the following qualifications is required (if consultant is an individual,
the following qualifications are required): Relevant field experience, with demonstrated experience in providing training in sustainable agriculture practices; First-hand knowledge of the SAN Sustainable Agriculture Standard and the SAN/Rainforest Alliance certification scheme (approved trainer status by Rainforest Alliance to be acquired within two months); Good understanding of value chains and experience working with private companies; Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook with a demonstrated and working knowledge of PowerPoint; Excellent writing, editing and verbal communication skills; Written and verbal proficiency in English required; Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to interact culturally, linguistically, and diplomatically with diverse internal and external individuals; Initiative, self-motivated, resourceful, detail-oriented, dependability, strong attention to detail; Knowledge of, and commitment to environmental issues and sustainability practices; Be eligible to work in India and ability to procure work visas for international travel. |
Responsibilities | : |
Ensure the proper roll out of the 2016 SAN Standard to Rainforest Alliance Field Staff and Representatives,
Farmers and Trainers, and provide continued training on the SAN Standard to local stakeholders: Train Rainforest Alliance field staff and representatives (such as implementing partners) in the new SAN Standard and Certification Policy; Support the development of training modules for Rainforest Alliance’s Sustainable Agriculture Training Platform and the Rainforest Alliance Training App; Organize, support and provide follow up on regional and local Technical Summits with local stakeholders; Liaise with the SAN on local interpretation questions of the 2016 SAN Standard; Support certification bodies to, in a pre-competitive way, prepare documentation required by SAN for auditing purposes (such as a local legislation framework); Answer questions from certificate holders and local stakeholders on the 2016 SAN Standard and Policy through Online Fora; Provide on-farm and centralized training in the 2016 SAN Standard to certificate holders, trainers and other local stakeholders; Promote and monitor the use of training tools such as Rainforest Alliance’s Sustainable Agriculture Training Platform and the Rainforest Alliance Training App; Representation and Communication: Be a point of contact for Rainforest Alliance staff and representatives for certification-related matters that are beyond the scope and services of individual certification bodies, and provide inputs on relevant topics such as sector crises, risk management, etc.; Represent Rainforest Alliance to external stakeholders, both nationally and internationally, as needed; Generate stories and case studies from the field for use in Rainforest Alliance Communication and Fundraising; |
