Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Vishwavidyalaya (JNKVV), Jabalpur was established in 1964, as the biggest multi-campus university. The Central Administrative Office of the University is located about 7 km North of Jabalpur town on National Highway No 7.
At present, JNKVV encompasses five Colleges of Agriculture (Jabalpur, Rewa, Tikamgarh, Ganjbasoda and Waraseoni); one College of Agricultural Engineering (Jabalpur); four Zonal Agricultural Research Stations (ZARS) (Jabalpur, Powarkheda, Tikamgarh and Chhindwara); four Regional Agricultural Research Stations (Rewa, Sagar, Dindori and Waraseoni); four Agricultural Research Stations (ARS) (Naugaon, Garhakota, Sausar and Tendini) and twenty Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVK) representing six agro-climatic zones spread over 25 districts.
The Central Library came into existence during the year 1965 and since then from its initial collection of 10000 volumes of books and periodicals, it has now grown to more than 84000 volumes.
The University has awarded 23,048 degrees that includes 16080 Bachelor, 6626 Masters and 342 of Doctorate. Jawaharlal Nehru Agricultural University, Jabalpur has completed its 50 glorious years and celebrated the Golden Jubilee Convocation on 27th June 2014 in the auspicious presence of Hon'ble President of India Shri Pranab Mukherjee.
