Plan of Bihar Agricultural University to make Paperless office
The agriculture colleges and educational institutions under Bihar Agricultural University (BAU) would become paperless soon. It is decided to improving productivity, reducing expenses on paper as well as saving time, space and environment. "The university is seriously working on a plan for paperless offices where dependency of paper files is removed" said Vice-Chancellor of BAU.
A paperless office is a work environment in which the use of paper is eliminated or greatly reduced. This is done by converting documents and other papers into digital form with the help of computer and its software against the traditional paper-based filing system in offices, which requires very good infrastructure and equipments that require maintenance, considerable space and are resource-intensive.
The BAU Vice-Chancellor said that effort is to distribute the study materials and class notes to the students before the class semesters. It is aimed at enhancing the educational standard besides making the classes more interactive as the students would be aware about the lessons beforehand, said the VC.
