AAU celebrating “National Milk Day” on 26 November
On the 94th birth anniversary of Milkman of India, Dr. Verghese Kurien, SMC College of Dairy Science, AAU, Anand celebrating “National Milk Day” on 26th November 2015.
College have invited Shri Ashok Sharma, Additional State Project Director, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, Govt. of Gujarat, who has studied and taught Dairy Technology, witnessed the contributions of Dr Kurien and who is practicing the leadership capabilities in the State Government to talk on “Inculcating Leadership in Dairy Technocrats”.

Awareness rally will start at 9.00 to 10.30 am in bus from SMC College, and by walk from Mahatma Gandhi statue, Near Railway Godi to Bethak Mandir and return by bus from Bethak Mandir to SMC College. (10.30 to 11.00 am tea /refreshments).
Additionally two other events have been organized for the students of SMC College of Dairy Science:
1. Elocution completion: Dairying: A tool for socioeconomic upliftment of rural India –from 2.30 to 4.30 pm.
2. Poster competition: Dr. Kurien – The architect of cooperative dairying – 8.00 am to 5.00 pm at Dairy Chemistry Dept. Lobby

About Anand Agricultural University
Anand Agricultural University (AAU) was established in 2004 at Anand by the support from the Government of Gujarat, Act No. (Guj 5 of 2004) dated April 29, 2004. Currently there seven Colleges, seventeen Research Centers and six Extension Education Institute working in nine districts of Gujarat namely Ahmedabad, Anand, Dahod, Kheda, Panchmahal, Vadodara, Mahisagar, Botad and Chhotaudepur.
Research activities of AAU focus on productivity, sustainability and improvement of the socio-economic condition of the farming community. Students' Welfare activities / facilities provided by AAU include sports, debate, residential, recreation, health, adventure, career counselling, leadership and personality development trainings, spoken English, college magazine, cultural activities, NCC, NSS etc.
Dr. M.D. Patel Regional e-Library is the University Library, currently in possession of 19 Foreign & 74 Indian Journals, 78714 Bar coded Books & Reports, 3376 theses, and 132 digitized rare books, and several e-resources all for the utility of the users of the Institution. Since inception, AAU organizes convocation every year. AAU is located in Central Gujarat, in the Milk City Anand, five kilometres away from the Railway Station.
